Pressmeddelanden från tillverkare av musikutrustning och instrument

Epsom, United Kingdom, April 21st, 2020 – It's been announced today that Synchro Arts, the makers of VocALign and Revoice Pro, are one of only four UK companies to win two 2020 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, one for Innovation and the other for International Trade. The Queen’s Awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses which are leading the way with pioneering products or services.

A core benefit resulting from innovations delivered by Synchro Arts is that vocal alignment and pitch correction tasks which would have taken hours of manual editing can be performed in minutes or in some cases, instantly.
You've most likely heard Synchro Arts products at work on countless platinum-selling and Grammy-winning music albums and on numerous Emmy-winning TV shows like Game of Thrones and Chernobyl and Oscar-winning films like Roma and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Synchro Arts was also the only UK company to receive a coveted Technology and Engineering Emmy award in 2019.
Managing Director and Founder, Jeff Bloom, commented: “Synchro Arts has always tried to provide audio professionals with tools that help them deliver their very best work by making specific audio editing tasks easier and faster. We’ve achieved this by coming up with solutions that had never even been imagined and many of which remain unique.
We are incredibly excited and honoured to receive two such highly distinguished awards from the Queen’s Award for Enterprise organisation, and we gratefully thank and acknowledge the skills and dedication of our amazing team and, of course, our worldwide customers for making this possible."

Legendary superproducer Mike Dean has been shaping the sound of hip-hop for more than 30 years, praised for his work with artists like Beyoncé, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Scarface and Madonna. From writing standout synth leads and explosive bass lines to engineering final mixes, his genius is heard throughout some of the greatest rap records of all time.
    Watch "The Eighth Night" here
Now, for the first time in Dean’s career, his solo work will see the spotlight.
This Monday, April 20th, the 28-track instrumental mixtape – befittingly titled 4:20—will be available to stream or purchase. Sonically, it’s everything you would expect and more from the veteran sound architect: larger-than-life bass, booming drums, and memorable melodies flawlessly arranged to take you on a journey through Dean’s world of electronic music mastery. The mixtape, almost entirely comprised of the music Dean has created during his popular Instagram Live performances over the past few weeks of isolation, is a testament to the power of creativity in these uncertain times.

Earlier this year, the Grammy-winning producer invited Moog Music into his LA home studio to capture the making of what would become “The Eighth Night,” a standout track included in the release. Watch Dean flex his production prowess by building an opus using sounds created with only one instrument: the Moog Grandmother. Every 808-style kick, bassline, lead, and Yeezus-style distortion comes from this instrument recorded in a single session.

Since picking up his Micromoog in 1989, Moog synthesizers have always been a staple of Mike Dean’s production arsenal. Dean has been collaborating with Moog Music since 2016 when he spent a weekend writing a track at the legendary synth company’s factory in Asheville, North Carolina. Its employees have witnessed Dean’s artistry firsthand as he wrote and recorded synth anthems “Grande Faucon” and “Three Jewels”—and now “The Eighth Night”.

Last month, Dean kicked off Moog’s ongoing “Synthesize Live” series, where artists take over Moog’s Instagram account to perform live music and share synth knowledge for electronic music fans everywhere during this time of social distancing.

Helsinki, Finland, April 2020... Genelec is proud to announce the launch of G SongLab, an initiative that forms part of the Genelec Academy and offers young people free access to asafeon-line learning community, through which they can collaborate and engage with others in developing their skills in songwriting and music creation.
Launching in Helsinki, the initiative is a collaboration between Genelec and a number of operators including the Tiuku Public Information Cultural Factory, the City of Helsinki, University of the Arts Helsinkiand the ArtsEqual research initiative, all of whom have joined forces to encourage and support young people’s active participation in music creation –and the sense of social integration and companionship that this brings.

The G SongLab concept has been developed by a team of songwriters and music educators led by Petter Korkman and AnnaKuoppamäki. The project provides an international online learning community for all young songwriters aged between 13 and 29, allowing them to participate from the comfort of their homes and share their songs with others – which is particularly beneficial in view of the recent COVID–19 outbreak. Also, Genelec themselves will contribute to the educationalprogram by teaching some of the basics of sound and audio monitoring, so participants can learn how to evaluate and improve the quality of their work.
A selection of the music created during the workshops will be shared with the wider public via the Genelec Music Channel on YouTube, along with live performances by workshop participants being broadcast from Helsinki via the Genelec Artist Room in the future.
As a company with an international standing, Genelec have a long tradition of supporting educational programs that help young people realise their dreams through the creation of music. With a partnership already in place with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus in the US and Europe, and the establishment of the Ilpo Martikainen Audio Visionary Scholarship in conjunction with the Audio Engineering Society, G SongLab is a natural extension of this commitment to global music education.
Genelec’s Juho Martikainen explains “This is an excellent way to express our valuesof enthusiasm and justice. Music creation belongs to everyone, and if we can help young people to learn and find their own way in life, then that is the best prize there is. In the difficult times we currently live in, we believe that music can help create hope, a sense of belonging and a shared determination to support each other and survive.
”Petter Korkman and Anna Kuoppamäki add “Anyone can write a song just as anyone can draw a picture. Songwriting is a powerful means of self-expression and connecting with others through music. It’s a way of sharing your views, experiences and feelings, and a way of spelling out who you are. We want to be both ears and loudspeakers, as it were, carefully listening but also actively projecting this polyphony of voices out into the world.”
To celebrate the launch, Genelec will bestaging a G SongLab Songwriting Challenge, inviting young music creators to submit their original songs. The challenge will be open to young people worldwide, with the three most innovative entrants receiving a premium quality home studio recording package, and the chance to perform their song live at the Genelec Artist Room. Neu-Anspach, Germany – April 15, 2020 – the Adam Hall Group can once again look forward to receiving Red Dot Awards in the Product Design category in 2020. Three products were distinguished with the internationally renowned Red Dot Award 2020: the Cameo F4 Series LED Fresnel spotlights, the Palmer MONICON XL monitor controller, and the Palmer STUDIMON 5 studio monitors.
Once again a German Design Award recipient, the Adam Hall Group, based in Neu-Anspach, Hesse, is further motivated to continue pursuing its path of developing innovative event technology solutions in close cooperation with its customers. Both the LED Fresnel spotlights for TV, film, and theater applications and Palmer’s indispensable studio tools embody the characteristic design of the respective brands, offering professional users a well-thought-out combination of functionality, user-friendliness, reliability, performance, and high-quality appearance for various day-to-day applications.
    Cameo F4
Unlike numerous competitors, whose spotlight designs seem to be inspired by a stealth bomber’s unobtrusively sleek design, Cameo employs a natural design language, such as a bracket that integrates organically into the housing, much like a joint.
Theaters, in particular, have many strict requirements. For example, the cooling system has to be extremely quiet, the spotlights must operate quickly and efficiently, and the housing must flexibly integrate into different installation environments. The F4 Series’ product design fulfills all of these aspects while keeping a distinct yet elegant character based on curved lines and organic shapes.
The Palmer brand originally stood for practical analog musician tools. Today, however, the manufacturer has set its focus on the professional market and serves the needs of commercial studios and real audiophiles. This can be seen in the MONICON XL monitor controller’s design and in the matching studio monitors from the STUDIMON Series.
Palmer underlines the human element behind the technology with its unique signature design. The orange-colored elements help here by conveying warmth and openness despite featuring a minimalistic design.
    Experience and Expertise
The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the world’s largest design competitions. The international jury made up of experienced experts from various fields has been coming together for more than 60 years to seek out the best designs. During an evaluation process lasting several days, they try out the products, discuss them, and ultimately make a well-founded decision regarding the design quality of the submitted entries. True to the motto “In search of good design and innovation,” they consider such criteria as the degree of innovation, functionality, formal quality, durability, and ergonomics in their evaluation.
As part of the awards, the Cameo F4 Series, the Palmer MONICON XL, and the Palmer STUDIMON 5 are featured in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in the “Design on Stage” exhibition, which has all the award-winning products on display. The products are now also available to see in the Red Dot Design Yearbook, online, and in the Red Dot Design App.

Vienna, Austria (April 9, 2020) - Musician Derek Brown recently tested out an Austrian Audio OC818 microphone, using it to capture his unique style of saxophone playing – dubbed ‘BEATBoX SAX’.
Part beatbox, part instrument-slap technique, and part saxophone playing, Brown has turned BEATBoX SAX into a phenomenon – his YouTube music videos and tutorials are enormously popular among saxophonists and music lovers alike, racking up over 150,000 Youtube subscriptions.
Previously the director of jazz studies at Abilene Christian University for six years, Brown received his BM in Music Performance (Classical and Jazz) from Hope College in 2006, and his MM in Jazz Studies at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music in 2008.
Crossing genres from jazz, to classical, to funk (and without using any looping or electronic effects), Brown’s unique playing style was born out of a love of blending musical genres.
“I grew up with a very normal way of playing the saxophone,” he said. “I studied classical music and I started liking jazz. I went to university and I studied all the techniques and different ways of improvising. I was always feeling a bit lost, thinking ‘what’s my new thing to say on this?’ Am I a jazz musician? Am I a classical musician? Am I a pop musician?”
Brown decided that he didn’t need to choose - the result being a unique blend of jazz and pop-style saxophone playing, combined with instrument-slapping techniques.
Requiring a microphone that was up to the challenge, Brown tested an Austrian Audio OC818:
“It was great; it is everything I look for in a mic,” he said. “I had a very quiet signal and it seemed to pick up all the different things I'm doing on the saxophone, which is very important because everything I do – even though it sounds like it’s being looped or has an electronic effect – it’s not, it’s all acoustic. So I need a microphone that is going to pick up every little detail, from the ring scratching that I’m doing, to all the intricate sounds coming out of the belt, and my voice. This was a perfect mic; it had a great sound to it. It seemed to produce a very natural-sounding saxophone.”
Brown also likes that the OC818 microphones are handmade in Vienna:
“I love the idea that these are being created in Austria,” he enthused. “I know it’s very easy to have things outsourced to other countries, so I love that this tradition is being continued. I can't wait to see what Austrian Audio comes up with next.”
Handmade in Vienna, the OC818 is a multi-pattern dual-output condenser microphone equipped with a world-first: optional wireless control. At the heart of the range is the patent-pending, handmade CKR12 ceramic capsule, made to the same critical dimensions as the legendary CK12 capsules. However, the CKR12 goes further still, utilising a revolutionary new material offering far more stability, meaning every OC818 is inherently paired with any other OC818, or even Austrian Audio’s OC18 mic.

Iisalmi, Finland – April2020... Genelec – the global leader in professional loudspeakers – is now offering customers the option of a special RAW aluminium colour finish, available on a selection of the most popular models in its Studio, AV and Home Audio ranges.
All the models feature the timeless Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) design, developed by Genelec in close collaboration with leading industrial designer Harri Koskinen, and fashioned from recycled aluminium. The RAW versions require no painting and less finishing material than standard painted models – creating an even more environmentally friendly loudspeaker that allows the natural beauty of the enclosure’s raw aluminium to shine through, and gives each individual loudspeaker a unique look and feel.

The models available are all two-way designs, and include the 8020, 8030 and 8040 nearfield studio monitors, the 4020, 4030 and 4040 installation loudspeakers, the new 4420 and 4430 Smart IP loudspeakers and the G Two, G Three and G Four home audio models.
Genelec’s original use of aluminium enclosures dates back to 1996 with the launch of the 1029A nearfield model, with the distinctive curves of the revolutionary diecast MDEdesign finally achieving worldwide recognition when the 8000 series was unveiled in 2004. By eliminating edge diffractions, the MDE delivers incredibly flatfrequency response, precise imaging and unparalled acoustical performance. The slimline enclosure is elegantly cast and beautifully finished to produce an extreme rigid structure withlarge internal volume – thereby extending the frequency response while simultaneously reducing resonances and thus the quantity of internal damping material required.

Over the years the MDE design has made possible an extensive range of custom paint finishes, but with the announcement of the new RAW option, Genelec is confident that customers will be attracted to the idea of investing in an endlessly recyclable Genelec loudspeaker that is itself largely created from recycled beverage cans and automotive parts – but is now even kinder to the environment.
Genelec Managing Director Siamak Naghian comments:
“We have been trialling the RAW finish for an extended period of time, gauging customer response while fine-tuning the production process. Although we were driven by the desire to offer a loudspeaker option with even greater sustainability credentials, it quickly became clear that customers across all market segments also loved the ‘industrial’ design aesthetic that RAW
represents. We hope the audio community will agree that our RAW loudspeakers sound exceptional, are beautiful to look at –and are better for the planet too.”

Brainworx Audio is proud to announce availability of bx_console SSL 9000 J — putting the big, deep, and clear sound of Solid State Logic’s legendary large-format 9000 J Series console in the hands of DAW users as an officially-approved plugin with 72 different TMT (patented Tolerance Modeling Technology) emulations, enabling anyone to build a 72-channel analog SSL console in the box by using TMT to harness the power of the most famous British console ever produced for their mixes. Available at www.plugin-alliance.com as of April 8.
The SSL 9000 J improved upon its predecessors by offering extended bottom end, a more clean and open top end, and additional distortion-free headroom — quickly making it a favorite among the top producers and engineers who crafted some of the biggest pop, hip-hop, R&B, and orchestral recordings of the 1990s, 2000s, and beyond.

Brainworx’s bx_console SSL 9000 J was developed using the original Solid State Logic 9000 J schematics and built by using component modeling in close collaboration with SSL engineers. Additional refinement of the exacting emulation came courtesy of GRAMMY® Award-winning mix engineer Michael Brauer, who helped Brainworx by matching the plugin’s sound and behaviour to the SSL 9000 J he personally used on countless Gold- and Platinum-selling records throughout his celebrated career.
Musically, Michael Brauer and other top-tier mix engineers have helped create a rich menu of presets so users of the bx_console SSL 9000 J plugin can get going without necessarily needing to start from scratch. Speedily experience the sound of SSL at its best — in the box, with the console design used on countless major releases from artists including Aerosmith, James Bay, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Joe Bonamassa, Coldplay, DMX, Evanescence, Yo Gotti, Jay-Z, Wyclef Jean, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Madonna, John Mayer, Nicki Minaj, Nas, Rihanna, Santana, Shakira, Britney Spears, The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Kanye West, and so many more.
But better still, bx_console SSL 9000 J has been taken to the next level by Brainworx adding powerful plugin-only features, such as continuously variable THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and V GAIN (virtual gain) controls to add colorful saturation and/or simulated analog noise independently or globally — changeable across all plugin instances. In addition to the original EQ, DYNAMICS, and FILTERS sections, it also features switchable EQ modes between E- and G-style filters.
Notable 9000 Series-only dynamics features such as ‘peak detect’ and expander/gate ‘hold’ are all present and correct, accessible via a scalable UI (User Interface) to adapt to various screen sizes and workflows. With 72 different TMT channel emulations in one plugin, bx_console SSL 9000 J users are working with the only true console emulation — everything else is just a channel strip.
Says Michael Brauer: “The bx_console SSL 9000 J was the missing link going hybrid and in the box.” Having spent so long working so successfully with Solid State Logic’s legendary large-format 9000 J Series console in his previous New York studio before bravely moving into a hybrid situation at his new cutting-edge mixing studio, BrauerSound, he should surely know!

Linköping, Sweden, April 1st, 2020. A powerful and musical modern plug-in channel strip with the unique vintage sound of Chandler Limited®, the Zener-Bender combines the crisp and colorful character of the Curve Bender Mastering Equalizer with the big, punchy Zener Limiter to bring class, history, and most crucially of all, a phenomenal sonic impact. Component-modeled with Softube’s customary care and experience, these units together can take charge of any mix.
Tracing the heritage of the Chandler Limited® Zener-Bender is like discovering an imperial family tree. The roots of the Chandler sound are in EMI consoles, used at Abbey Road from the 60s onwards to record some of the most seminal albums of all time, by the likes of Pink Floyd and The Beatles. And right up to the present day the Curve Bender and Zener Limiter are being used in both hardware and plug-in form by top producers and engineers across records by world-leading artists such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, The White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, and more. The influence of the Chandler Limited® sound cannot be overstated. It shapes the world it rules.

Adding the focused channel strip workflow, as well as modern plug-in features such as External Sidechain, Mid/Side Processing, and Channel Linking, the Zener-Bender is a step into the future for your mixes. Bring the mojo and musicality of the Curve Bender, and the sophisticated authority of the Zener Limiter, to your DAW of choice and hear the improvements.
The individual plug-ins are included with the Zener-Bender, so sessions featuring the Curve Bender or Zener Limiter alone will remain as royally awesome as ever.
Zener Limiter and Zener-Bender For Console 1
In addition to the Zener-Bender, Softube and Chandler are releasing two new products: the Zener Limiter is now available as a standalone plug-in in native format, and Console 1 owners will be able to take advantage of the Zener-Bender’s sound with an exclusive Console 1 version of the strip.
    In short

Linköping, Sweden, April 3rd, 2020: Tactile control of your most important DAW parameters inspires your production and performance to be even more musical. Full compatibility between Ableton Live and Softube's Console 1 ecosystem is now available, allowing Live users to take advantage of all the hands-on capabilities that both Console 1 and Console 1 Fader offer in the studio or on the stage.
Control of volume, pan, solo, and mute in Live is just the start. Sending to return tracks for reverb, adding drive to distort a loop, filtering sounds while launching scenes, and grouping tracks with layer mode takes your creative potential to a new level.
Those using Ableton Push to create or perform will love the addition of faders to their workflow for the first time. Flexibility is key – it is your music, so you decide what setup is best for you. Console 1 and Console 1 Fader can work on their own in Ableton Live or be used together. And those mixing larger sets can even add more than one Console 1 Fader for an additional 10 faders.
The full compatibility features are available for Ableton Live 10.1.9 (VST3). To help Ableton Live users get started, Softube created, in collaboration with Ableton, a series of educational videos showing how to incorporate Console 1 Fader into their workflow.
The videos can be watched on Softube's website:

    Console 1 & Console 1 Fader
The Console 1 ecosystem is an elegant and modern mixing solution, combining hardware and software to give engineers and producers the best of both worlds: the versatility, affordability, and usability of in-the-box mixing, alongside the workflow, feel, and focus dedicated hardware can bring.
Console 1, the original hardware unit, can be used alone, or in combination with Console 1 Fader for a tight complete mixing console experience. Users can even use multiple Console 1 Fader units to build the ideal workflow.
With no need for MIDI mapping or assigning, Console 1 works straight out of the box with all major DAWs – Ableton Live, PreSonus Studio One, Steinberg Cubase, Cakewalk by BandLab/SONAR, Cockos Reaper, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, and more – any host that can run a VST, AU, or AAX plug-in can work with Console 1. Some hosts offer deeper compatibility, allowing control of the DAW itself from Console 1's hardware. Live is the latest addition to this group, joining Studio One, Cubase, Cakewalk by BandLab/SONAR, and Reaper, with more DAWs being added regularly.
    In short
Ableton Live has now full compatibility with Softube's Console 1 and Console 1 Fader (Version 10.1.9 / VST3) Live users can now control their DAW from the Console 1 and the Console 1 Fader hardware, using the knobs and faders to adjust volume, pan, solo, mute, sends, drive, and other parameters  Perfect for use in the studio or on the stage Ableton Push users will love the addition of faders to their workflow

Zero-G Fractale Fragmente is an exquisite, experimental multi-format sound library from the Hamburg-based electronic project neueheimat.
neueheimat is the brain-child of Dennis Grell and Philipp Staudinger – two producers and sound designers, whose idea was to create an unconventional library of sound tools for film and video soundtrack creators experimental music artists and alternative EDM producers.
The library‘s sound sources are as diverse as they are unusual. Only a small selection of synthesisers was used. Most sound sources came from field recordings, underwater shooting, contact microphones, broken machines, industrial equipment, children's toys, live concerts and other noise sources all recorded through a vintage analogue signal path to create a unique and incomparable listening experience.
Fraktale Fragmente comes with an elegant and easy to use Kontakt interface that will help you create entirely new sounds from the existing samples. Not only are there 6 individual filters, ADSR and LFO, there is also easy access to a whole array of effects, including delay, reverb and modulation that will help you sculpt and shape your sounds to perfection.
As well as having a custom Kontakt 6 interface this multiformat library also includes Kontakt3, EXS24, Reason and HALion instruments as well as Acidized Wav files and AIFF Apple Loops.
Fraktale Fragmente is available now with an introductory 25% off until 17th April!
