Meningen med expansion card till CME UF8?

Jag har sett att det finns en lucka i mitt cme uf8 som döljer plats för ett expansion card....vad är meningen med detta? Vad jag har förstått så är det ett ljudkort....vad är det som är så mkt bättre med ett ljudkort i klaviaturet än i datorn?
