Tänkte bara sticka in ytterligare ett par inlägg i debatten.... 🙂 Tycker mig själv höra/känna/uppleva skillnader mellan samplingsfrekvenser, men främst när jag sitter och arbetar med materialet. Tvivlar starkt på att jag skulle höra skillnader vid ett blindtest. Skulle dock vara intressant att få jämföra samma (parallellt inspelad med indentiska ljudkort på två maskiner) mix gjord hela vägen i 192 khz och i 44. kHz.... Den här länken har väldigt intressant information som relaterar till ämnet. There's Life Above 20 Kilohertz! Läs gärna punkt X på sidan och se vad ni själva tycker om resultaten. Själv är jag väldigt intresserad av det mänskliga medvetandet och studerar ofta material som avhandlar gränslandet medvetet/omedvetet och hur vi männsikor och våra medvetanden påverkas av olika stimuli. En tråd till......För ett gäng år sedan såg jag en annons för SACD där man hade tagit en väldigt kort transient och visade en original oscilloskopbild på hur transienten såg ut och sedan oscilloskopbilder hur den återgavs i 44.1, 96 och 192 kHz samt SACD. Om korrekt transientåtergivning är det allena viktigaste så fanns det givetvis efter den annonsen bara ett möjligt alternativ...... 😎 Detta sagt så spelar jag fortfarande in med och använder 44.1 kHz (Tyvärr är ett Pyramix-system lite utanför min budgetram f.n.) Försöker dock använda högre samplingsfrekvenser när projekten och datorkraften tillåter. Om någon orkat läsa så här långt "Tack för intresset!" 🙂 P.S. 44.1 kHz såg minst sagt SKRÄMMANDE ut i SACD annonsen.

Tittar själv på ett Mackie 400F och hittade texten nedanför, på kvraudio.com, om interfacet. En sak som är viktig för mig är dessutom att jag inte är låst till att använda en enhet om jag vill expandera antalet I/O, så jag skrev till Mackies support och frågade om man kan använda fler 400F interface för att expandera antalet in och utgångar. Svaret kom snabbt att det går alldeles utmärkt på både MAC och PC. Det lutar absolut åt en eller två 400F och en Vintage Design SU1J summeringsmixer för mig. 😄 //Micke have a 400f that i can hand on heart say is superb. great sound, not a stability issue in sight, nigh on perfect i'd say. i use 2 rode nt3's to record my harmonium through the onyx preamps and they sound superb. i actually use a behringer line mixer to submix my synths and line level stuff into the mackie though cos i ran out of inputs. great bit of kit, never once regretted the purchase. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Naxa - Mon Jul 31, 2006 7:55 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey Blaster78, your one of the first person i know that has the 400f and I appreciate what you said because I was really looking into the 400f Do you use a PC or a Mac? Thnx!! i use it with a pc, my main sequencer is sonar so i don't know with regards to cubase but as i've had a grand total of zero problems with sonar/ext/bidule/audiomulch/live/traktion2/wavelab i'd be realy suprised if there were any isues. not to gush too much but it is an extremely well built bit of kit, feels solid, looks lovely and does its job perfectly for me. the onyx preamps have a very nice sound (although this is clean and clear, rather than particulalry characterful) my only problem was that i ran out of line inputs, but thats not a fault of the mackie... just of me -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have used both PT and T2. I actually really like ProTools, but I think that unless you are going to work with their high end stuff, it doesn't make sense to buy any Digidesin product. I hated the feeling that I was locked into buying Digidesign products if I wanted to continue to use PT. That is totally bogus. I had a first generation MBox and wanted better hardware, but the next piece of equipment in the upgrade path if you want to stay with ProTools is the Digi002 Rack. So I gotta spend $1200 for a firewire interface???? A lot of people will say - well, you could use M-Audio interfaces with ProTools M-Powered... but then you have to buy the M-Powered software, because there is no crossgrade available. I decided to ditch my MBox system - I bought a Mackie Onyx 400F, which sounds 10 times better than a Digi002, and costs freakin' $500 less! Plus it comes with a free copy of T2. I had been planning on using the Onyx with Logic, but after demo'ing T2 for about 30 minutes I feel in love with it. Great for recording audio and editing audio in a timely manner. IMO both ProTools and T2 are excellent programs. I felt like I had more intimate control over things with PT, and I felt that the program was more powerful, but as I am a musician and not an engineer, I find T2 to be more suitable for my purposes. There are a few things that do bum me out about giving up PT - 1) can't use the RTAS plug-ins that I had - I hated giving up the PullTec bundle and the JoeMeek comp/EQ. 2)File management is much better in PT than in T2.
