  1. Celemony Software GmbH, Munich, 26.05.2020 (ictw) – Celemony is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the new Melodyne Version 5. The Grammy-Award-winning software Melodyne is used all over the world every day for the correction, perfection, reshaping and transformation of vocal tracks, samples and audio recordings of all kinds. A studio standard, in fact. But even the best things can be improved. Melodyne 5: What’s new? The most important new features of Version 5 relate to Melodyne's core competence: the correction of poor intonation on vocal tracks. The algorithm now detects – along with a host of other phenomena – the presence and extent of the unpitched (noise-like) components of the vocal sound as well as breaths, which it then processes separately from the pitched components. This leads to better results, less time spent editing, and a more natural sound. Factor in the improved weighting of pitch deviations and Melodyne 5 now hands you back – virtually in two shakes – a musically perfect vocal performance. The volume balance between the pitched and unpitched components can be adjusted – syllable by syllable if desired. This not only helps with double-tracking and vocal harmonies but gives you a perfect and precisely targeted de-esser into the bargain. Totally new possibilities for dynamic contouring are afforded also by the Fade Tool and the Leveling Macro, as they too work on a per-note basis – even with polyphonic audio material. A new degree of musical freedom But Melodyne 5 also supports new workflows that further musical creativity: With the Chord Track (and the Pitch Grid configured accordingly), recordings and samples can be adapted at lightning speed to the harmonic structure and chords of your own compositions and songs. So any library sample now harmonizes instantly with your song. That's perfect for songwriters but also for remixers. And thanks to the integrated chord recognition, no knowledge of music theory is required. The most important new features of Melodyne 5 in a nutshell: With the Melodic algorithm, separate editing of pitched and unpitched components of the vocal sound (sibilant detection). Better results, less time spent editing, more natural sound The ability to control the volume ratio between the pitched and unpitched components – a precisely targeted de-esser function Improved weighting of pitch deviations, musically perfect intonation A Chord Track and Chord Grid to adapt any recordings and samples to your song – thanks to integrated chord recognition, no knowledge of music theory required The Fade Tool and Leveling Macro let you edit the dynamics of each note – even in polyphonic material A new algorithm, "Percussive Pitched", plus various other algorithm enhancements Fuller implementation of keyboard shortcuts Melodyne 5: Working with chordsWorking with chords Melodyne 5 runs in stand-alone mode as well as with 64-bit DAWs under MacOS and Windows – DAW integration via ARA, VST3, AU or AAX. The update costs 49 €/US$ for Melodyne assistant, 99 €/US$ for Melodyne editor and 149 €/US$ for Melodyne studio. For Melodyne essential and users who registered Melodyne after 1 March 2020, it is free of charge. A 30-day trial version can be downloaded from https://www.celemony.com/en/trial Melodyne 5: A quantum leap in vocal editing Melodyne 5: The leveling tools More information on Melodyne 5: www.celemony.com
(In English at the bottom of the page). ENGLISH Intelligent plugin helps you clean up In recent years, plugins have begun to emerge that aim to help us work faster and more efficiently. Instead of a seventy-eighth plugins that mimics the most sought after analogue analogue products, some manufacturers have begun to realize that much more can be done with the help of computers. Various types of semi-automatic dynamic EQ have appeared. A while ago I tested Gullfoss from Sound Theory, and this time it is time for Soothe 2. Soothe, as the name says, what it is they want to do. Have you ever tried to squeeze out disturbing frequencies with narrow EQ curves, and felt that in the end it might remove things in the sound that you really didn't want to be removed? Then maybe you should take a look at this. 3. AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, May 19, 2020. FabFilter is proud to announce immediate availability of FabFilter Saturn 2, a major update to their award-winning multiband distortion and saturation plug-in. Saturn 2 sees a top-to-bottom redesign of the Saturn interface for even greater ease of use and visualization, as well as a host of new features and improvements, including 12 new distortion styles, a radically overhauled and expanded modulation system, enhanced envelopes, linear phase processing, and a pristine new ‘Superb’ High Quality mode. Beautiful new interface with modulation visualization Saturn 2 looks better and flows faster than ever. The darker color scheme makes the plug-in easier to look at for extended sessions, and four interface size options and a stunning full-screen mode enable adaptation to any workspace. Modulation is now comprehensively visualized at both source and target, too, with color-coded collars and tracks on knobs and sliders animating in response to modulation input, the source flow area giving an eye-catching overview of all mod signals, and indicators on controls and bands showing which parameters are being modulated at a glance. More distortion types Saturn 2 almost doubles the number of distortion styles on board from 16 to 28. ‘Subtle’ versions of the Tape, Tube, and Saturation styles provide low-intensity warming, while four new British (Rock, Pop) and American (Tweed, Plexi) Amp styles perfectly model well-known guitar amplifiers, three Transformer styles (Subtle, Gentle, Warm) open up abrasive new possibilities, and the Foldback and Breakdown FX styles reshape and mutate sounds beyond recognition, the latter combining down-pitching with heavy distortion. Big modulation changes With virtually no limit placed on the combination of 16-step XLFOs, Envelope Generators, Envelope Followers, XY Controllers, and MIDI sources that can be used in a preset, Saturn has always been serious about creative modulation, and Saturn 2 takes the whole system to the next level. Curve the Envelope Generator’s Attack, Decay, and Release stages for a smoother or more aggressive response, activate the Envelope Follower’s new Transient detection mode to tightly track drums and percussion, and route discrete band inputs to both Envelope sources as triggering signals — pulverize hi-hats to the rhythm of the kick drum, for example. The XY Controller’s new Slider mode, meanwhile, slims it down to vertical-only operation, and the XLFO benefits from legato MIDI triggering and targeting of the Frequency Offset and Balance parameters for modulation. And with custom naming of individual mod sources now possible, users can customize their Saturn 2 presets for effortless navigation. Mastering grade saturation The new ‘Subtle’ saturation types make Saturn 2 the mastering engineer’s secret weapon, bringing enlivening presence and fizz to final mixes. In order to meet the exacting demands of such mission- critical application, the band crossovers now offer a choice of 6, 12, 24, 36, and 48 dB/octave roll-off slopes, the new ‘Superb’ High Quality mode switches the plug-in to 32x oversampling for almost total elimination of aliasing, and the Linear Phase option ensures maximum coherence for the crossovers and High Quality modes. Key features: • 28 diverse distortion styles, from warming tube and tape saturation to screaming American and British guitar amps, Transformers, bit crushing, smearing, rectification, and more • Up to six separate processing bands, with variable crossover slopes: 6, 12, 24, 36, and 48 dB/octave • Independent Drive, Mix, Feedback, Dynamics, Tone, and Level controls for every band • Two High Quality modes for 8x and 32x oversampling • Regular stereo and mid/side processing • Intuitive interactive multiband display • Powerful, flexible modulation system: drag and drop as many 16-step XLFOs, XY Controllers, Envelope Generators, Envelope Followers, Sliders, and MIDI Sources as required • Full visual feedback of modulation via parameter animation and ‘source flow’ • Linear phase mode for mastering applications • Four interface size options and full-screen mode • Carefully curated factory preset library for amp modeling, coloration, lo-fi degradation, and FX • All the usual FabFilter features users have come to expect: perfectly fine-tuned knobs and controllers, interactive MIDI Learn, undo/redo and A/B switch, Smart Parameter Interpolation for smooth parameter transitions, an extensive help file with interactive help hints, sample accurate automation, SSE optimization, and more FabFilter Saturn 2 is now available for EUR 129, USD 154 or GBP 114, supporting both Windows and macOS in VST and VST 3, Audio Units, AAX, and AudioSuite plug-in formats. Bundles with FabFilter Saturn 2 and other FabFilter plug-ins are also available at: www.fabfilter.com/shop Existing FabFilter customers can purchase or upgrade to FabFilter Saturn 2 with very attractive discounts by logging into their online user account: www.fabfilter.com/myaccount System requirements are either Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista or XP (32-bit and 64-bit) and a VST 2/3 host or Pro Tools, or Mac OS X 10.8 or higher (64-bit only) with Intel processor, and an Audio Units host, VST 2/3 host, or Pro Tools. To make self-quarantine just a little bit easier during the COVID-19 pandemic, FabFilter offers free 30-day evaluation extensions for all their plug-ins, including Saturn 2.

  5. 980 Spark is a unit that consists of three modules: Compressor, Colour, and Saturator... This plug-in was especially designed to help enrich and thicken audio content with minimum of effort, without compromising quality and usability. It is a handy tool for sound design, as well as a sophisticated saturation unit. All the controls are carefully selected with workflow in mind, enabling the user to quickly achieve the desired result, while retaining the versatility of the plug-in and allowing space for experimentation. 980 Spark is mostly suited for use during the production process, especially in electronic music but also acoustic or live applications. Combining Compression, EQ and Saturation, allows control of the dynamic range and harmonic content of the sound. The signal first runs through the "Compressor" module, then through the "Colour" module and finally into the "Saturator". This way, the first two stages ("Compressor" and "Colour") essentially define the dynamic and spectral characteristics of the sound that will excite the Saturator, creating a unique spectrum of capabilities on the saturation effect. Features 980 Spark features an easy to use interface, with sample peak metering and clip indication at each output stage for easy gain staging through the plug-in, and expertly tuned modules for musical application... A compressor based on the analogue envelope detection circuit. 6 carefully developed EQ curves. 6 selected and modified saturation algorithms. A combination of the three modules that creates a unique spectrum of saturation effects. Pricing & Availability 980 SPARK: List Price: $129 MAP: $99 Introductory Promo: $49 An introductory promotion shall be available from May 5th, through May 17th, 2020, at the highlighted price above. 6. BRNO, CZECH REPUBLIC: software applications, software effects, and hardware processors developer Audified is proud to introduce an all-new intuitive plug-in product line with VocalMint Saturator — an easy-to-use, one-knob valve saturation shaper with vocal- and speech-specialising powerful processing hidden under the hood — as of April 23… Unlike most one-knob-style plug-ins that only do one thing — think processing a track linearly with a specific effect, Audified’s all-new VocalMint Saturator processes a track through its virtual signal chain to tune multiple vocal- and speech-specific parameters simultaneously. As a valve saturation shaper par excellence, it ably achieves this under the hood — and all without interruption to the creative process. After all, valve saturation is not a linear phenomenon and neither is VocalMint Saturator’s taper. Indeed, it is intelligently optimised for mixing vocals and speech, so saturates accordingly across the whole range of the knob that dominates a gorgeous GUI (Graphical User Interface) that is as easy on the eye as it is to use with a menu that can remain closed or opened for easily accessing additional controls, such as a zoom option or dBU/dBFS calibration. Intuitive in use, anyone can master VocalMint Saturator in a matter of seconds. Saying that, though, there lies a powerful beast below its superficially simplistic surface, saturating whatever track it is applied to while also shaping it using pre-tuned algorithms developed from Audified’s considerable collective music production experience. As Audified has helpfully chosen and carefully crafted the whole saturation chain involved, including subtle equalisation... voilá! All the user needs to do is turn the knob and enjoy employing the vocal- and speech-enhancing results on their own music production. VocalMint Saturator is available to purchase for a time-limited COVID-19 crisis promo price of only $29.00 USD until May 14, 2020 — rising thereafter to $79.00 USD — from Audified’s online shop here: https://shop.audified.com/products/vocalmint-saturator VocalMint Saturator can be directly downloaded as an AAX, AU, VST2, VST3 64-bit native plug-in for MacOS (10.9 and above) and an AAX, VST2, VST3 32- and 64-bit native plug-in for Windows (7, 8, and 10) — alongside a demo version — from Audified here: https://services.audified.com/download (Note that VocalMint Saturator is serial number-protected, so no iLok is required.) 7. Available from Tuesday April 28th, 2020, via Plugivery Distribution and all reputable pro audio resellers worldwide, Plugivery are proud to welcome Pulsar Audio to their increasing list of audio plug-in and software application manufacturing brands. MU LIMITER/COMPRESSOR "An Industry-Standard Tube Compressor" The most faithful emulation of a modern yet legendary tube compressor/limiter – perfect glue for mixing and mastering. There are several reasons to use a variable-bias tube compressor. One is the exceptional compression transparency that this kind of compressor can achieve, even when pushed into extreme gain reduction. Another – and perhaps the most common – is their ability to add cohesion or "glue" to buses, whole mixes and masters. With its unique Topology Preservation Technology, Pulsar Mu sounds objectively identical to the hardware in every production context, and even makes improvements such as an increased signal-to-noise ratio. ECHOREC "The Best Software Emulation of the Binson Echorec 2" Echorec is a software emulation of the iconic echo/delay unit of the same name, produced by the Italian brand Binson in the 1960s. Vintage Echorec devices are known for their saturation, self-oscillation, and oversound, all shaping the music produced in the 70s. They are also, however, known to be fragile and difficult to maintain. The Pulsar Echorec plug-in gives you a faithful emulation of this legendary echo unit; furthermore, many workflow improvements have been added to the original, such as the ability to change the motor speed (and so the delay time) in real time or to sync it to any tempo, including a tapped tempo. Three different units, in different conditions, have also been precisely modeled, to have all sounds from the cleanest magnetic delay, to the most grunge. These additions and the signature sound of the Binson Echorec 2 make this echo a must-have tool for any mixer who wants to add the subtle analog life, which is sorely lacking in digital delay plug-ins. SMASHER "All Buttons In, All The Time" A straightforward extreme compressor modeled after the "British mode" of a uniquely modified 1176 compressor. Smasher is an unprecedented custom modification of the classic Urei 1176 compressor circuit, a unique formula stumbled upon while fine-tuning other algorithms. While remaining very close to the original circuitry, the modifications built into Smasher will add definition to transients and make your tone more aggressive. Customers love using it to enhance the ambience in drum busses, but there are many more creative uses too. Smasher won’t work on every single track, but where it does, it works magic. Smasher excels at raw and gritty sounds, calling to mind bands like Vulfpeck, The Whitefield Brothers and The Black Keys. System Requirements & Compatibility : macOS 10.8 or above Win 7 or above Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 / Xeon or AMD equivalent OpengGL 2.0 compatible GPU 4 GB RAM 2 authorizations per license (iLok* machine, 2/3 key, or Cloud) *An iLok account is required, and PACE iLok License Manager installation required for authorization. 8. There is more to a great plug-in than the sound quality it imparts on your tracks. Workflow and user-friendliness are arguably equally important. To that end, we are proud to finally announce the completely overhauled Preset Collection, already available in the most recent update of all native Softube plug-ins. Use category icons to sort by instrument, or browse pro-user collections. Take a smoother stroll through your options with list view. 9. Epsom, United Kingdom, April 21st, 2020 – It's been announced today that Synchro Arts, the makers of VocALign and Revoice Pro, are one of only four UK companies to win two 2020 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, one for Innovation and the other for International Trade. The Queen’s Awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses which are leading the way with pioneering products or services. A core benefit resulting from innovations delivered by Synchro Arts is that vocal alignment and pitch correction tasks which would have taken hours of manual editing can be performed in minutes or in some cases, instantly. You've most likely heard Synchro Arts products at work on countless platinum-selling and Grammy-winning music albums and on numerous Emmy-winning TV shows like Game of Thrones and Chernobyl and Oscar-winning films like Roma and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Synchro Arts was also the only UK company to receive a coveted Technology and Engineering Emmy award in 2019. Managing Director and Founder, Jeff Bloom, commented: “Synchro Arts has always tried to provide audio professionals with tools that help them deliver their very best work by making specific audio editing tasks easier and faster. We’ve achieved this by coming up with solutions that had never even been imagined and many of which remain unique. We are incredibly excited and honoured to receive two such highly distinguished awards from the Queen’s Award for Enterprise organisation, and we gratefully thank and acknowledge the skills and dedication of our amazing team and, of course, our worldwide customers for making this possible." Brainworx Audio is proud to announce availability of bx_console SSL 9000 J — putting the big, deep, and clear sound of Solid State Logic’s legendary large-format 9000 J Series console in the hands of DAW users as an officially-approved plugin with 72 different TMT (patented Tolerance Modeling Technology) emulations, enabling anyone to build a 72-channel analog SSL console in the box by using TMT to harness the power of the most famous British console ever produced for their mixes. Available at www.plugin-alliance.com as of April 8. The SSL 9000 J improved upon its predecessors by offering extended bottom end, a more clean and open top end, and additional distortion-free headroom — quickly making it a favorite among the top producers and engineers who crafted some of the biggest pop, hip-hop, R&B, and orchestral recordings of the 1990s, 2000s, and beyond. Brainworx’s bx_console SSL 9000 J was developed using the original Solid State Logic 9000 J schematics and built by using component modeling in close collaboration with SSL engineers. Additional refinement of the exacting emulation came courtesy of GRAMMY® Award-winning mix engineer Michael Brauer, who helped Brainworx by matching the plugin’s sound and behaviour to the SSL 9000 J he personally used on countless Gold- and Platinum-selling records throughout his celebrated career. Musically, Michael Brauer and other top-tier mix engineers have helped create a rich menu of presets so users of the bx_console SSL 9000 J plugin can get going without necessarily needing to start from scratch. Speedily experience the sound of SSL at its best — in the box, with the console design used on countless major releases from artists including Aerosmith, James Bay, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Joe Bonamassa, Coldplay, DMX, Evanescence, Yo Gotti, Jay-Z, Wyclef Jean, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Madonna, John Mayer, Nicki Minaj, Nas, Rihanna, Santana, Shakira, Britney Spears, The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Kanye West, and so many more. But better still, bx_console SSL 9000 J has been taken to the next level by Brainworx adding powerful plugin-only features, such as continuously variable THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and V GAIN (virtual gain) controls to add colorful saturation and/or simulated analog noise independently or globally — changeable across all plugin instances. In addition to the original EQ, DYNAMICS, and FILTERS sections, it also features switchable EQ modes between E- and G-style filters. Notable 9000 Series-only dynamics features such as ‘peak detect’ and expander/gate ‘hold’ are all present and correct, accessible via a scalable UI (User Interface) to adapt to various screen sizes and workflows. With 72 different TMT channel emulations in one plugin, bx_console SSL 9000 J users are working with the only true console emulation — everything else is just a channel strip. Says Michael Brauer: “The bx_console SSL 9000 J was the missing link going hybrid and in the box.” Having spent so long working so successfully with Solid State Logic’s legendary large-format 9000 J Series console in his previous New York studio before bravely moving into a hybrid situation at his new cutting-edge mixing studio, BrauerSound, he should surely know! bx_console SSL 9000 J is available for purchase (as an AAX AudioSuite-, AAX DSP-, AAX Native-, AU-, VST2-, and VST3-supporting plugin for MacOS 10.9 through 10.14 and Windows 7 through 10) at an attractive introductory price of $299.99 USD until April 22, 2020 — rising thereafter to an MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) of $349.00 USD — from here: https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/bx_console_ssl_9000_j.html Owners of bx_console SSL 4000 E or bx_console SSL 4000 G can add the new bx_console SSL 9000 J to their Plugin Alliance account for only $149.99 USD by managing their plugins and various personal offers from here: https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/manage-plugins.html Owners of bx_console N, bx_console Focusrite SC, bx_digital V3, bx_townhouse, bx_XL V2, elysia alpha compressor, Lindell Audio 80 Series, Mäag Audio EQ4, Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor (any version), SPL IRON, or SPL Transient Designer Plus can add the new bx_console SSL 9000 J to their Plugin Alliance account for just $179.99 USD courtesy of the brand partners by managing their plugins and various personal offers from here: https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/manage-plugins.html A fully-functional, 14-day trial of bx_console SSL 9000 J is available to anyone registering for a free Plugin Alliance account here: http://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/registration.html bx_console SSL 9000 J is included in Plugin Alliance’s monthly MEGA Bundle subscription (https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/pa-mega-bundle-monthly.html), annual MEGA Bundle subscription (https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/pa-mega-bundle.html), and monthly bx_bundle subscription (https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/brainworx-bx_bundle-monthly.html) at no extra cost! 15. 17. SANTA CRUZ, CA, USA: Plugin Alliance, supporting all major plugin formats and uniting some of the best- known international audio companies under one virtual roof, is proud to announce founding partner Brainworx Audio’s acquisition of the assets of Wolfgang Palm’s prestigious PPG synthesizer brand. The trailblazing Hamburg-based company founded by Wolfgang Palm first found fame and fortune in its initial incarnation throughout the Eighties and beyond by bringing the distinctive sound of wavetable synthesis to the musical masses and also impacting the MI industry with its innovative PPG Wave hybrid digital/ analogue synthesizer series and associated advances. These included the unique (unreleased) Realizer — quite possibly the world’s first virtual instrument (in 1986), albeit as a proprietary hardware hybrid! Software seriously came calling from 2012 onwards when Wolfgang Palm returned to prominence, producing new PPG products. What a legacy. PPG synthesizers have musically made their mark onstage and in the studio with an array of notable artists such as a-Ha, Alphaville, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Thomas Dolby, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Jean-Michel Jarre, Mike & The Mechanics, Gary Numan, Pet Shop Boys, Rush, Talk Talk, Tangerine Dream, Tears For Fears, Ultravox, Stevie Wonder, and many more. Thanks to Brainworx Audio’s acquisition of the assets of Wolfgang Palm’s prestigious PPG synthesizer brand, that legacy is all set to thrive. Plans are already afoot by Brainworx Audio to update Wolfgang Palm’s PPG products in close collaboration with the man himself, universally recognized as the originator of wavetable synthesis! Together they will take the PPG brand and advance its digital products into the future, following Wolfgang Palm’s planned retirement at the end of March 2020 — after 50 years in the creative field of sound synthesis! Signing an agreement with Plugin Alliance and Brainworx Audio owner Dirk Ulrich ultimately lets Wolfgang Palm put his (well- deserved) retirement plan into action, happy in the knowledge that his ‘baby’ will be in good hands. Wolfgang Palm puts it this way: “I am very glad to have found Brainworx and Plugin Alliance, who appreciate my work from the past and want to continue my legacy. They have a great team of competent developers, product specialists, marketing, and all that is needed to make a company successful. I support their work to make the transition as smooth as possible, and it will be exciting to see how this evolves. Also, I think that this collaboration will result in a much wider audience than before.” Indeed, it is a great honor for Brainworx Audio to be joining forces with Wolfgang Palm — truly a legend in his own right, and continue to break boundaries in the world of virtual instruments. “We are proud that Wolfgang Palm put his brand and product into our hands,” declares Dirk Ulrich, ending on a high note: “We will make sure to carry on his legacy with the respect it deserves and we are looking forward to evolving the brand and products for years to come.” For more in-depth information about the trailblazing work of Wolfgang Palm and the prestigious PPG’s past, present, and future, feel free to check out Plugin Alliance’s interview with the man himself here: https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/blog/blogpost/items/wolfgang-palm-interview.html

  19. Linköping, Sweden, February 21st, 2020. A highly versatile mojo machine, capable of replacing multiple plug-ins in a chain – EQ, distortion, transient designer, you name it – the Chandler Limited® Germanium Compressor is so much more than gain reduction. Engineered with an ear for music before mathematics, this is a trusty companion for producers, recording engineers, and creative musicians of all kinds. This is a meticulous model of the Chandler Limited® hardware, tested in our lab to ensure it performs like the hardware does, for the same excellent sound quality and inspiring vibe. The Germanium Compressor’s unique character comes from a blend of several innovative approaches. The ratio settings are tuned by ear rather than arithmetic. The dial takes you from less to more rather than fixing on especially precise numerical values. And what does it matter as long as it sounds fantastic? Knee settings are similarly artistic, named as they are after the different combinations of diodes which achieve each color of curve. With a FET gain reduction element, the Germanium is capable of fast and heavily-saturating compression. So there’s a choice of clean or dirty compression, toggling between modes which compensate to varying degrees for the harmonic excitement naturally brought about by the unit. It’s never transparent, but you have a lot of control over Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in this compressor. You also have control over the speed of operation – the attack and release times can be combined to extremely musical effect. Ease off on the attack and the Germanium Compressor becomes a punchy powerhouse for drums. Slow down the release and creamy, smooth tones can be introduced to vocals or bass. Acoustic guitar can be brightened and tightened, or rock axe heated and seated in a dense mix. The Germanium in software lets the user take advantage of exclusive features: Mid/Side Processing and External Sidechain allow you to make better-sounding mixes than ever before. And every track this thing touches will benefit from the drive and feedback on output – this is the real secret sauce. A gain circuit which can gently caress a signal as easily as it can sizzle and sear it into submission. All the character, the musicality, the fun of the original hardware Germanium Compressor from Chandler Limited® is right here. Whatever flavor of music you’re making, add this sound to the recipe. 20. PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC: newly-founded federation United Plugins is proud to announce availability of the seventh plugin release to its collective name (since launching last year) with FirePresser — founding independent developer FireSonic’s fresh take on compression as an advanced serial multi-compressor plugin suitable for every situation where compression is needed — as of February 25… As any serious mix and/or recording engineer worth their salt should surely know, natural yet powerful sounding compression can be achieved by using multiple hardware compressors in series — several compressor plugins positioned as DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) track inserts will do the trick, too. Today, however, there is no need necessarily to go to such extreme lengths to achieve this, thanks to the timely introduction of FirePresser. For every situation where compression is needed, FirePresser — FireSonic’s third plugin release in close collaboration with United Plugins — provides easy access to exacting emulations of four iconic analogue compressors, clearly labelled (left to right) as VARIMU (coloured green), STRESS (coloured red), DB160 (coloured blue), and 76 (coloured yellow) in an uncomplicated user interface that allows all of them to be blended with the greatest of ease, letting lush analogue- sounding compression weave its musical magic upon any source material in next to no time at all. Anyone at all familiar with the iconic analogue compressors being emulated by FirePresser will readily recognise their corresponding compression characteristics. Firepresser Verbumsshot Firemaster Hyperspace Firecobra Royal Compressor Front Daw Clearly, though, there’s a whole lot more to the superficially-straightforward FirePresser than executing exacting emulations alone. Ultimately, users can quickly rearrange the order of those compressors with simple drag and drop movements. Meanwhile, FirePresser’s so-called Rainbow Pad provides further control over the amount of presence each compressor in the chain as arranged is having, helpfully reflected visually by blending their associated primary colours on screen. But better still, drag just one parameter to simultaneously control all four compressors and achieve the best results — speedy, simple, and smart! Though the overall effect of FirePresser is instant, some skilled users might choose to work with the DETECTOR controls, connecting them to the advanced features of all engaged compressors at the same time. That said, FirePresser’s overall effect can be also accentuated by dialling in the TURBO knob to squash sounds further still, seasoned by pleasing analogue saturation. Fortunately, FirePresser comes preloaded with a lot of professionally-programmed presets, perfect for tackling almost any studio scenario. Saying that, then, for most users it’s simply a case of loading a preset and adjusting the DRY / WET knob to always achieve fantastic-sounding results. As an advanced serial multi- compressor plugin suitable for every situation where compression is needed, FirePresser is both a real time-saver and a no-brainer — perfectly priced to go (forth and multiply in most major DAWs on macOS and Windows, using internal 64-bit audio processing handling any sample rates up to 192kHz and beyond)! FireSonic’s FirePresser is available to purchase for a time-limited introductory promo price of €59.00 EUR ($66.00 USD) until March 10, 2020 — rising thereafter to €99.00 EUR ($110.00 USD) — as an AAX-, AU-, and VST-compatible audio plug-in directly from United Plugins here: https://unitedplugins.com/FirePresser/ (Note that a 15-day, fully-functional trial version for macOS and Windows can be downloaded for free.) 21. It brings the unique acoustic ambience and other iconic audio characteristics of Los Angeles' legendary Sunset Sound recording facility to musicians everywhere, and is suitable for use both as an individual plug-in and inside T-RackS 5. Using a combination of IK's unique Volumetric Response Modeling (VRM™) technology and advanced physical modelling to recreate Sunset Sound's custom consoles, T-RackS Sunset Sound Studio Reverb offers a powerful sonic experience that lets users add a distinct sound from many hit songs recorded at Sunset Sound to their tracks as if they were at the studio themselves. IK worked in collaboration with current studio owner Paul Camarata, multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning producer/engineer Ross Hogarth (Van Halen, Doobie Brothers) and many of Sunset Sound's engineers to give recording engineers unprecedented access to the ambient sound and vibe of the studios in this landmark facility, where a who's who of music has recorded for 60 years, including the Doors, the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Prince, Aretha Franklin, Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and countless others. Decades of session sheets were studied at the studio to recreate specific mic positions and placement used on countless hits, with a high level of collaboration between IK and the studio to achieve accuracy and realism when emulating these distinct sounds in software. Iconic consoles and deep authenticity This new plug-in carefully captures each space, recorded using Sunset Sound's high-end mic collection, to deliver not just the acoustics but also the unique vibe of the space. IK recreated them using its unique Volumetric Response Modeling (VRM™), an advanced hybrid convolution technique, to deliver the highest-quality reverb effects possible and ensure the results of T-RackS's processing were virtually indistinguishable from recordings made in the real rooms. IK also used its award-winning physical modelling techniques to recreate each studio's vintage customized consoles (an API-based Sunset Sound custom, a Class-A-Discrete Neve® 8880 and an API/DeMedio® Sunset Sound Custom), preamplifier and signal path, to add the perfect harmonic elements and sonic signature. All together, this results in a faithful studio quality reverb that adds a very special warmth and tone while also offering the same signature ambient sound as the timeless records that were recorded at the studio for decades by top artists and bands. All of this is complemented by an array of flexible control options for further tone shaping. Studio owner Paul Camarata notes, "For 60 years, the sound of our studios has been heard on hit records around the world. 24. Linköping, Sweden, February 7th, 2020. Heritage meets rock & roll science. When you think guitar amplifiers, chances are you think Marshall. For many years Softube have partnered Marshall in all things software, and now two new native Marshall amplifier plug-ins are hitting the scene. To begin with, now available natively for the first time, the Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959. Modeled on Marshall’s own reference unit, a pristine 1967 amp from their museum, and combined with an era-appropriate 1960BHW 4x12” cabinet which was recorded by legendary AC/DC engineer Tony Platt, this is a must-have amp for classic and modern tones alike. Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959 Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959 mixer And as if that wasn’t enough, Softube have worked in tandem with his majesty, the undisputed Kerry King of thrash metal, to model an exact replica of his signature guitar amplifier, the Marshall 2203KK, a.k.a. “The Beast”. Not only component-modeling the insanely powerful amplifier itself, right down to its KT88 power tubes and hand-wired circuit, but also going into the studio and out on the road with Kerry, to capture cabinet responses and microphone combinations for both live and recording situations. Kerry King Signature You’ll love the realism, both sonic and visual. You’ll love the flexibility, and the depth of the sound at any setting. Most of all, you’ll love the way your music sounds through these epic setups.
