PICKED NYLON perfectly complements the other acoustic releases in the SESSION GUITARIST collection. The instrument delivers the unmistakably pure, warm sound of a nylon-stringed guitar, allowing producers and media composers to create a completely authentic tone for traditional genres like flamenco, bossa nova, jazz, and classical.

The sounds of PICKED NYLON were recorded in a carefully controlled studio environment, from a one-of-a-kind instrument built by master guitar-maker Lisa Weinzierl. Now the rich textures and timbres of this truly exceptional guitar are painstakingly captured and made accessible to all in a single KONTAKT instrument. The guitar was carefully tested amongst a range of contenders, and selected due to its superior level of balance and versatility.

To create her guitars, Lisa uses centuries-old techniques inspired by traditional Cremonese luthiers such as Stradivarius, with meticulously chosen materials including maple and spruce.

We created this short documentary video to take an in-depth look inside Lisa’s workshop, and showcase the process that makes her guitars sound so special.
