Att spela in live kan för vissa vara en mardröm och för andra rena fröjden. Det som förloras i detaljkontroll vinns i känsla och spelglädje. Och även magiskt lim? (In English at the bottom of the page).

I veckans video sitter jag ner med Peter Dahlström igen. Om du såg min förra video med honom så vet du att det är mannen bakom studion jag jobbar ifrån. Vi har båda en förkärlek för att spela in så mycket som möjligt i studion live. Vi har dock lite olika infallsvinklar då vi jobbar med lite olika genres och han har även ett antal fler års erfarenhet än jag. Vi trillar också in och pratar lite om Peters hjärteprojekt License To Thrill som är en storbandsplatta som Peter producerat med hjälp av hel drös erfarna musiker och sångare. Även under den produktionen gjordes alla grunder live. Dessutom på imponerande kort tid.

Record live to capture the magic!

Recording live can be a nightmare for some, and a dream for others. What’s lost in control of details are gained in feeling and joy to play. And also the magic glue?

In this weeks video I sit down with Peter Dahlström again. If you saw my last video with him you know that he’s the man behind the studio I work at. We both have a love for live recording as much as possible in the studio. We do have some different angles to approach it though, since we come from different genres, plus he has years of more experience than I do. We also talk a little about Peter’s passion project License To Thrill which is a big band production that he produced with the help of a bunch of talented  musicians and vocalists. Also during this production most elements where tracked live, in a impressively short time.
